Electronic Filing of UCC Financing Documents

You can file UCC documents quickly and easily from your computer at home or work. You must be registered in order to file your UCC.

To register, click on the link below. Then click the registration button and fill out the requested information. Once the registration process is completed, you are ready to file your UCC.

To file, use the user ID and password you established at registration. If you are filing an initial financing statement, select the first option, "Filing a UCC Financing Statement." If you are filing an amendment (continuation, assignment, or termination), select the second option, "File a UCC Financing Statement Amendment."

Proceed to fill out the form as required. If you need instructions about a certain field, select the "Help" button above the field in question. You can pay for your filings by providing your credit card information, as requested on the payment screen. After the Recorder of Deeds processes your documents, you will receive a cashier's receipt and a copy of your filed UCC with the recording information affixed to the UCC.

Please note that by clicking on this link, you will leave the Government of the District of Columbia website and enter a privately owned website created, operated and maintained by a private business.
